Summer 2010
Happy Summer! Our summer program has started and the children are having fun enjoying the fresh air outdoors and the air conditioning indoors! Parents please remember to bring in a weather appropriate change of clothing, a swimsuit, water shoes and towel. Just a reminder we are hoping to utilize the sprinklers and wading pools every chance we get!
Watch the tot lot for exciting changes this summer! We have ordered a Little Tyke’s Tot Tree and Hippo which will sit on a large area of soft rubber surfacing (which will help eliminate the mud issues we sometimes have). Unfortunately our budget of $13,500.00 (which we raised through your generous fundraising support the last three years) will not allow us to get the shade structure we had hoped for. Hopefully we will be able to get the structure next year!
After the tot lot is completed we will be working on additional play structures for the older children!
Our St. Jude Trike -a-Thon went well! We raised $580.00. Which was substantially greater than last year!
Our school-age program is getting into full swing: the kids will be practicing soon for the end of summer talent show; they are making clothes for the fashion show and looking forward to the weekly fieldtrips! This year we also have Computer Explorers coming in to do a “Crime Scene Investigation” unit and Jazzercize will be here to help the kids with dance routines.
I want to take a minute to thank everyone for the wonderful referrals. Most of our children arrive at the Center because of somebody telling their parents about a good experience that their own children had- we truly appreciate the kind words and hope we will always exceed everyone’s expectations!
We celebrated our 20th year this May and I want to also thank all of you for your loyalty and support. We will continue to strive for excellence as we maintain NAEYC standards and continue to love ,nurture and educate the children entrusted to our care!
